LYFDA introduction
Film cameras don't save shooting information in the EXIF format (metadata) that digital cameras do.This free web application allows you to e-mail your shooting information to yourself quickly, without having to write them down manually in a notebook, for example.
Now, with cell smartphone technology, you can also take and add a photo of the context, as well as retrieve GPS information to easily find the exact location of your shot.
No password or authentication required. No data is saved or passed on to third parties.
Usage
Once you have received the e-mail messages with your shooting information, you can of course keep them in your inbox. However, you can also print them to store them with your negative sheets.
Another possibility is to print a PDF file of all the messages from the same film and store it in the same place as the scans of your negatives.
GPS positionning
The position's latitude and longitude are represented in decimal degrees.GPS information can only be retrieved if you have authorized the browser application to use your smartphone's positioning information.
A link is added to an e-mail message to enable you to locate these coordinates on Google Maps.
Altitude doesn't work with all smartphones.
For example, on iOS (iPhone, iPad), Safari gives altitude and is more precise than other browsers.
Adding a photo capture
You can add an image capture of the shooting context with your smartphone. To reduce the size of the e-mail message, the image will be resized to 512 pixels on the longest side. Depending on the type of smartphone you use, you can either take a picture directly or add an existing one.To reduce the size of the data transfer and storage space, if your terminal allows it, reduce the image BEFORE sending it.
Storing data
Allows you to retrieve the latest information after an incident. The data is saved in a cookie on your browser for 30 days.
Cookies must be enabled in your browser settings.
